March 2008 - FWP Celebrating...National Women's History Month
Women's History Quiz
2008 National Women’s
History Month Theme

Women's Art: Women's Vision
To honor the originality, beauty, imagination, and multiple
dimensions of women's lives, Women's Art: Women's Vision has been
chosen as the 2008 theme for National Women's History Month. The history
of women and art is quintessential women's history. It is the story of amazing
women's accomplishments acclaimed at the time but written out of history. This
year's theme provides a special opportunity to discover and celebrate women's
visual arts in a variety of forms and mediums that help expand our perceptions
of ourselves and each other.
In 1980, the idea of National Women's History Month was initiated to serve as a
major vehicle for discovering and honoring women's history. This year, as we
celebrate our 28th anniversary of promoting the recognition and celebration of
women's historic achievements, we are amazed by the tens of thousands of women's
history events planned for March throughout the country.
Each year, we select the National Women's History Month Honorees and the
National Women's History Month Theme. Visit
The National Women's History Project for more information.
