SUBJECT: CPA – Plan Addendum for CRP Critical Feed Use

TO: All NRCS Employees

Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) participants are eligible to hay or graze certain CRP practice acres in 2008 under the Critical Feed Use provisions. NRCS employees working with producers to modify their CRP plans should become familiar with CRP Critical Feed Use requirements issued via FSA Notices. http://www.fsa.usda.gov/Internet/FSA_Notice/crp_598.pdf & http://www.fsa.usda.gov/Internet/FSA_Notice/crp_600.pdf.

The attached CRP plan addendum will be used to modify existing CRP plans.

Indiana will use grazing heights as an alternative method to stocking density to determine the amount and frequency of grazing and haying that can occur on CRP acreage.

This memorandum and attachment will expire on November 10, 2008.
