EQIP 08 RANKING STATE RANKING GUIDANCE

1. This application will result in the application of all the measures of an existing CNMP.

  1. This application includes the Energy Conservation and Soil Quality Improvement Systems practice (329). (20 Points)

  2. This application will address a ground or surface water quality concern in a 303(d) watershed (category 5A only) (Question 3(1)) or a watershed with a developed TMDL for non-point source impairment (Question 3(2)). (15 Points)

GUIDANCE FOR STATE QUESTION 3(1):

a. The Offered acreage is in a 303d listed watershed (per the 303d-listed watersheds shapefile for any agriculture)…

AND

b. Practices are scheduled that have a positive impact on the National CPPE (from SmarTech) for any Soil Erosion or specific Water Quality resource concerns (Sediment, Temperature, Pesticides, Nutrients, Pathogens, or Salinity only – both surface and groundwater).

  1. This application will address a surface water quality resource concern AND is located within a Surface Drinking Watershed Area (using the Surface Drinking Watershed shapefile – F:\geodata\project_data\nrcs\EQIP2007\11huc_intakes). (12 Points)

  2. This application will address a groundwater quality resource concern AND the offered acreage is within the Indiana karst region OR the offered acreage contains soils with a Leachability Index of 10 or higher (using the Karst and soils with high Nitrate Leaching Potential shapefile – F:\geodata\project_data\nrcs\EQIP2007\groundkar_2km). (11 Points)

  3. This application is based on a conservation plan that has been approved by the producer prior to October 1, 2007. (10 Points)

a. Award Ranking Points if at least 85% of the practices in the EQIP Application are in the approved plan.

  1. This application will use only wildlife friendly grasses (as identified by the FOTG Standard 645) for vegetative practices. (7 Points)

  2. This application will result in the development of a Prescribed Forestry Plan (FOTG Standard 409). (6 Points)

  3. This application will address a resource concern caused by the production of specialty crops.
