FY 2009 Information System Security
Awareness Training Procedures
Partnership (NRCS and
non-NRCS) employees who have USDA computer network access and have AgLearn
accounts:
Existing partnership employees will take their Information System Security Awareness Training (ISSA) through AgLearn. If this course does not appear in an employee’s Learning Plan, please notify Gary Maners or John Pepper so that it can be added. This is required training for all partnership employees who have USDA computer network access.
New Partnership (NRCS
and non-NRCS) employees with no network access who are applying for access:
The paper based version of the course is only available to those
with no network access to AgLearn. If an employee does not currently have
network access, an alternate PDF version of this online content is available. Employees (NRCS and non-NRCS) should contact their
supervisor and ask that the USDA
Information Systems Security Awareness FY 2009 (Paper) course be added to your training/learning plan.
For NRCS employees to receive a paper copy of the course, the District Conservationist
(DC) should request the paper based version from the NRCS Field Operations
Assistant (FOA) at the Area Office.
Once received, the DC will then provide the employee with the printed
copy of this course. The DC will also administer the exam, and then send the test
to the NRCS state training leader (Gary Maners).
Once the exam is graded the employee, their supervisor or the DC will be
notified of the score.
·
If the employee receives a passing score (70% minimum), the supervisor
will record it in AgLearn once the employee has an AgLearn account set up. (Instructions
for recording completion of the course in AgLearn are attached. The NRCS state
training leader will notify NRCS Human Resources (HR) so that application for
computer network access can be processed.
·
If the employee does not receive a passing score, the NRCS state training
leader will send the DC a new test for the employee to complete. The same procedure for administering,
grading, recording the completed course, and granting network access will be
followed.
Once network access is granted, non-NRCS partnership employees must set up their own AgLearn accounts so that training can be kept up to date, and computer network access can be maintained. Failure to set up an AgLearn account may cause loss of computer network access. An AgLearn account can be set up by going to the AgLearn Home Page and following the instructions for receiving a Level Two e-Authentication and by completing the steps to receive an AgLearn account.
